Welcome Signs

Well, this is a late post but as they say, better late than never. I admit I am lagging behind regarding our travel but I didn’t really had much time to update my blog. We’ve been busy going around.

Hubby and I with Sherry and JJ traveled to Iowa last July 13th to visit Wayne and Melissa and it was a very long but enjoyable trip. It is my 2nd time to go to Iowa. The 1st time was in 2003 during Wayne and Melissa's wedding. So we left Alvarado, Texas at around 4:30 AM and we reached Muscatine, Iowa around 8:30 PM. So it was 16 hours on the road. Sherry and hubby drove alternately. We stopped only to put gas in the van, go to the rest room, eat lunch and of course to take pictures of the welcome signs of the states we passed by.

The first state we passed by was Oklahoma but we didn’t see a welcome sign. Next was Kansas but we passed by the welcome sign and was not able to take pics. It’s a good thing there was a welcome sign beside the gas station where we bought gas so we took some pics. I can say that based on what I saw on the road, Kansas was a boring state. Nothing exciting that we've seen on the road. Next state we passed by was Missouri but we missed the welcome sign. I can say that Missouri is better than Kansas based on what I've seen. Next was Iowa and Sherry drove fast so we passed by the welcome sign but she managed to go back and we hit two birds in one stone because we saw the welcome sign of Missouri not far from the welcome sign of Iowa. We took photos of the welcome signs and then we headed to our destination, Muscatine, Iowa, the fields of opportunities. There are lots of corn and green beans, really! So there goes the story of the welcome signs, lol! More in my next post.
