When I Found Out...

My family had been living in the stone age for years. We just had basic cable. One day we decided we wanted to try a better television service. We switched to Satalite TV offers. When I found out that their was a network dedicated to NFL coverage 24/7, I was in heaven. This wasn't ESPN with random sports and some football. The only thing they talk about is football.

There is always something interesting going on on the channel. Whether it is a replay of the last week's games, or a top ten list of the best NFL cheerleaders. You cannot go wrong with the NFL Networks programming.

On Saturdays they have a great show about the coming match ups. You can get some great talking points for when you watch the games with friends on Sunday. NFL Network even has the rights to some Thursday night games now! It has quickly become my favorite network.

My television never seems to leave this channel. I live and breathe for the NFL. Just last night I watched a feature on the history of the NFL uniforms. It was great fun remembering all the uniforms going all the way back to the 60's! Some teams haven't even changed that much. That was extremely surprising to me.

If you are looking for NFL coverage, the NFL Network is the only place you need to go. Stop Looking.

Christmas Celebration

I know I'm lagging behind in my updates here but I just wanna write here our Christmas celebration. My hubby and I together with my kinfolks celebrated Christmas in the city of pines. We went there on December 23rd and came back home December 27th. It's the first Christmas that my sister Violy was not with us no more. I missed her so much and I felt that my brother-in-law and his 2 boys did miss her too. Also I missed my auntie Aning. Last year, we were all together celebrating Christmas. Who would think that it was their last Christmas with us. I know they were happy celebrating Christmas in heaven. We had a great time there, we had lots of foods during Christmas eve like fried chicken wings, roll cake, spaghetti, fruit salad, and Italian bread. After we had our Noche Buena, hubby shared a poem about Christmas. Then we had the gift giving. Everybody were happy and contented. Thank you Jesus for coming into this world to save us from our sins.

Insure Your Life

How time flies when you're having fun! We'll be two years here next month since hubby and I arrived here in my homeland to start a ministry for the Lord. It's like it's only been yesterday when we got here. Being missionaries is not that easy. We had to do what the Lord has sent us to do and that is to share the gospel to the lost and win souls to Jesus. Hubby had to give up his job in the states before we came here. I know it's not an easy decision because we came here as missionaries with only our home church supporting us. We didn't have time to visit other churches and raise some support.

Now we just have to trust the Lord to provide our needs. He already provided us a car and we are praying that sooner or later we can apply for Advantage life insurance for me and hubby. Right now, we can't afford it yet because our budget is kinda tight. Maybe by next year when hubby will start to draw his SS pension I will have to request for insurance rate quote because I heard they have the best rate compared to others. I'm excited, it's just a few months away till hubby gets his pension so it will help us to get by. We're just happy that the Lord never failed to meet our needs. We still have foods on the table and a house to live. We try to live a frugal life and spend only for the basic necessities. Maybe by that time we can already afford to get an insurance for us. But right now, we just insure our life to the Lord Jesus who never fails. For now, I will just keep the Advantage toll free number for future use.

Our New Home

Hubby and I just moved in to our new home last December 1st. God blessed us to get this 2 bedroom bungalow house with spacious kitchen, nice porch and furnished living and dining room with Narra wood furniture. The owner even constructed a new toilet and bathroom inside the house because the old bathroom was outside. The house has a spacious service area at the back with a deep well pump. It has also a spacious front and backyard with fruit bearing trees. There's a bamboo hut in front and a pigpen at the back.

The house was supposed to be rented by our friends but they changed their mind and gave it up because the CR was outside. They talked to the owner to construct a CR inside the house but she refused because she said that's a lot of expenses. Hubby decided to rent it when our friends rejected it. When we already paid the 1 month advance and 1 month deposit, the owner decided to construct a CR inside the house to my delight. We signed a 1 year contract for the lease. Now, we are happy and settled here for now. Here's a photo I took today. I'll post more next time.

My hubby and I wanted to have a business just in case the US economy will fall down, then we have something to fall back on. Life is getting harder and it seems that people who have businesses are doing okay. Like for example, the business of purified drinking water where we buy ours. Film Showing Tonight

We had a film showing tonight at 7:30 PM of the movie "The Burning Hell" and we had a good turn-out. The kids in my Sunday were all there and also the adults. They responded to our invitation which we announced in the church last Sunday and this afternoon we went to invite people. We had the film showing at the basketball outside the house where we hold our services. The house is not spacious so it can't accommodate all the people. Before the movie started, hubby gave a short message that hell is real, it's a lake of fire where there's gnashing and gnawing of teeth and that people should not want to go there. There will be no escape if people will go there so now that we are still alive, we should repent and turn away from our sins and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. After the movie, hubby gave an invitation but nobody went in front. Maybe they are just shy or they didn't understand the message because it's in English. Whatever the reason, we pray that the Lord will convict their hearts and they will realize their need of a Savior.
