I have been busy here in our house for the past few days. I've been cleaning the front yard and re-planting some plants. My orchids are not yet blooming. They have lots of roots already and they need to be replanted too. My brother had a bunch of bonsai plants collection and our front yard was so full of greens and no colors. I had to move some of the plants so the front yard is not so full of greens. I asked my sister to give me some of her euphorbia collections so our front yard will have some colors too. I love flowers and I'm not contented with just the green plants in our yard. I will have to buy some roses too for my garden. My cactus collection are still alive and I'm glad that my brother took care of it. I just need to add some soil in their pots. I'll post some pics of my plants after I'm done replanting and landscaping the yard.

to see some of the teachers who used to be my co-workers in the public high school in my hometown. They came to visit me and my hubby here in our house yesterday afternoon. Since my hubby and I came back in my homeland, I never got the chance to go and visit them in the school where I used to work for more than 7 years before I went to the US. I was so glad to see them. There were 6 of them who came and of course we had a chit chat. Imagine, it's been more than 5 years that Ive been away and seeing people whom I used to work with made me excited that I even forgot to take photos with them. They were all busy looking at the photos that I brought home and also they were asking me some questions and vice versa. I promised to visit them in the school with my hubby one of these days. Right now, we're busy cleaning and re-painting the house.

I am now using a wireless router in my laptop computer. I can take my laptop now anywhere in our house and still be able to connect to the internet. Unlike before, I can only use my laptop in one place. Now, I can blog in my room, in the kitchen, in our living room or in our porch. I bought the wireless router here in the Philippines for P2,050 and my brother-in-law connected it. It's really more convenient for a blogger like me.

Hubby and I arrived in the Philippines with cough and colds. We got it when we were still in Texas. Hubby's cough was really bad. I thought of going to the beach early in the morning because they said that it's good to inhale the morning breeze. I asked my youngest brother Albin to drive us there. San Fabian Beach is only about 45 minutes drive from our house. We didn't swim, we just went walking back and forth on the sea shore. We will go back there one of these days and we'll have a picnic. It was really good to see the beach again after more than 5 years of not seeing any beach at all.

My hubby and I went to Baguio together with my sister Violy and her family, my sis-in-law, her baby and the maids. We spent the night there at my brother-in-law's house and the weather was cold especially at night and in the morning. It was like we were back in Texas weather wise during spring. Hubby and I slept soundly for the first time since we arrived here in the Philippines. We went to SM Baguio to buy a coffee maker for my hubby. I also checked on the price of treadmill there. I wanted to buy one next time. Of course we didn't forget to buy our favorite pandesal in Cueva's bakery at Kayang Road.
It seems like Baguio is more populated nowadays. People are everywhere. The next day, we went to Camp John Hay during lunch and had a picnic in one of the parks there. My sister prepared some foods and her hubby ordered pancit palabok at Tea House restaurant in Session Road. We enjoyed eating all the foods and we really had a good time. Here are some of the photos that we took.

I'm enjoying the great weather in the Philippines right now, not to mention the foods that I've been craving for a long time when I was in the states. My brother Celso is a good cook and he's been cooking since we arrived here. He's also the one who go and buy meat, veggies and fish in the market. I just gave him the money to buy the stuffs that we need. My brother hired a maid/baby sitter and she does also the cleaning, dishes and laundry. I haven't been washing dishes and our clothes now because I leave it to the maid. It's really cool!

It's been more than 5 years since I rode an airplane so I was a little anxious to ride it again. I don't like the take-off and landing. My ears hurt when the plane starts to land because of the change of pressure and I felt a little dizzy during take-off. It's a long trip to fly from Texas to the Philippines, more than 22 hours including the lay-over and it's really boring while sitting down in the plane. It's a good thing that all the seats in AA were equipped with a small tv so I watched a lot of movies while flying. When I got tired, I took photos of me and my hubby as souvenirs inside the plane. We took the American Airlines and they have a modern technology. We can see in the tv where we are and how far we are to our destination.
We had a 2 hour lay-over in Tokyo and then we rode the Japan Airlines from there to Manila. It's a smaller and older plane but the fight attendants were all young, helpful and pretty compared to the flight attendants of the AA. They also served better foods. My hubby was so observant and he compared the services of the 2 airlines and he likes better the services of JAL.

It's been a while since I updated this blog because of our busy schedule of packing and moving here in the Philippines. I didn't have time for my blog for 3 three weeks and I really missed a lot of opportunities. I'm glad I'm back now and my hubby and I got home Wednesday midnight from a very long and tiring trip. First the trip to Manila from Texas was more than 22 hours including the lay-over. The trip to our house from Manila was an exhausting 5 hours. Hubby and I are still adjusting to the Philippine time. Boy, was I glad to see my family here. Now I'm back with my blogging business.
My hubby and I flew here in the Philippines last Monday. At last, after more than 5 years since I left my native land, we were back here in my hometown. We arrived in Manila last Tuesday night after a very long trip but my siblings who were supposed to meet us in the airport were not there. I got so worried because we were standing in the arrival area for more than an hour but nobody came to pick us up. Hubby had to call my sister's cellphone and he found out that their van broke down in the expressway. They had it towed to the auto shop and they slept in the van that night with all the mosquitoes.
The next morning they came to our hotel and I was so happy to see my siblings, bro-in-law and my 2 nephews. After they ate their breakfast and took their shower, we proceeded to the Mall Of Asia. We roamed around the mall, did some shopping and picture-taking. Here are some of our photos.
