I continued weeding off my vegetable garden this morning. The weeds had grown so fast after it rained for the past few days. They were already taller than my vegetables. I was in my garden for an hour and I pulled out lots of weeds and grass. It was warm and I sweat a lot. When I got tired and can't handle the heat no more, I stopped. I watered my veggies and then I went inside the house. The weeds that I pulled out are still there. I'll let them dry out then I'll ask my hubby to throw it in the dumpster. At least my veggies looks better without the weeds covering them. My squash are making little bitty squash now and also my bottle gourd (upo). I hope they will grow and not die because of the heat. After the rain, temperature gets hotter again. I can't wait till it's fall season.

I've been busy this morning cleaning our front and backyard. My hubby mowed the front yard yesterday afternoon and I had to sweep the mowed leaves and also there were some trash there coming from our neighbor's yard. These neighbors of ours are so messy. They don't throw their trash in the trash cans. They just throw it in their yard and when the wind blows, it come to our yard. I hate it. Sometimes, they honk their car and it really create noise. My hubby and I wish that these neighbors of our will move out soon so we will not be bothered by their noise and their trash. Of all the neighbors we had in the past, these current neighbors of ours are the worst. They are slum and noisy. They are renting the house next door. We are praying that we can sell our house soon so we can move out from here. There is one couple who gonna come and look at our house this afternoon.

I've been having problems in cashing out my cash balance in SS since yesterday. Whenever I cash out my payments it says error. I did try many times but to no avail. It really frustrate me. I already sent a ticket in SS. Today, PPP had e-mailed me that three of my posts has been approved for payments. I checked my Paypal account but to my dismay, the payments were not credited their. The amount was already deducted in my balance in PPP. It's the first time that I experienced this kind of problem in SS and PPP. They were always reliable when it comes to payments but I wonder what went wrong with their system. I sent a ticket to both SS and PPP today and I'm waiting for their reply. Hope they will resolve the problem soon. Am I the only one experiencing this problem or are there bloggers out there who encountered the same problem like I have now?
I heard in the news that there were 17 people who sworn in for their citizenship last Friday at the courthouse here in our city. I was so disappointed because I was not one of them. I just submitted the police clearance that the USCIS asked me to mail to them last August 11. That made the delay for my swearing in for my citizenship. If only they told me to submit it to them before I went there for the interview, I could have sworn in also last Friday. Now I'm still wondering when will they schedule me for my oath ceremony. One of our church members told me yesterday that they do the oath ceremony here in our city every 6 months. My golly! I couldn't wait that long. I hope I would swear in soon. I have to wait for their notification through mail. I just pray to God that I would receive it ASAP.

I was talking to my family in the Philippines a while ago online using the webcam. I talked to my sister, and her family, my youngest brother and his wife and to my beloved auntie. My aunt kept asking me when will we go back there. My hubby was here too talking with them. We both miss them and we told them we would like to go back there as soon as possible because we miss them too. My sister said they were supposed to go to Baguio today and just hearing the name of the city made me wish I'm there now. I miss my family, my home there and also Baguio City.
Hubby and I love the place because of the cool weather all year long. It's a good place to stay during summer time there. In fact my hubby wanted to buy a house there before but I just didn't agree because we were leaving for the US. Now I wish I've agreed to his plan. I know that all the prices of the real properties there now have skyrocketed and we can't afford it now. It's good to reminisce the past when my hubby and I were enjoying the cool weather and nice views in Baguio City. Here are pics of me and my hubby taken there a few years ago.
Last Sunday after church, my hubby and I went to Cracker Barrel restaurant to have lunch. My hubby have 2 gift cards from this restaurant worth $10 each which was given to him as Christmas present from the parents of the kids in their school. We used it for that day to pay our lunch. The restaurant was packed and we had to wait for 5 minutes to be seated. My hubby ordered his favorite chicken steak with fried okra and french fries on the side and I ordered chicken and dumplings with mashed potatoes and coleslaw on the side. I haven't eaten chicken and dumplings yet so I was curious how does it taste. To my dismay, it doesn't taste good to me, even their mashed potatoes. I will never order it again and I told hubby I will not try to cook chicken and dumplings because I don't like it. It's a good thing they gave us dinner rolls and corn bread while waitting on our orders so that filled me up. I just asked for a box and took home my order. My hubby ate it for supper.
This is what I ordered, chicken and dumplings and mashed potatoes and it was not as good as I thought.

It's been raining for the past few days and the hot temperature is gone. Boy, am I glad that the temperature gets cooler these days. My vegetables had perked up after a few days of rain. Rain is a lot better than the water from my faucet. I harvested a lot of okra lately and I cooked adobong okra. How my hubby love it! He said it is so good. Here's some pics of my okra plants now and the okra that I harvested.
I love shopping especially when the items I want to buy are on sale or I get a coupon for discount. Who wouldn't want a discount nowadays? With the price of goods and commodities sky rocketing, it is just practical to shop if you get discounts. In fact I don't shop when the items are not on sale. I just wait until they mark down the prices or they give coupons for discount. That's one way of saving money to cope up with the economic crisis that we are facing right now. The economy is getting worst and the dollar is getting weaker. So how do I save money in shopping? Of course by using coupons and discounts. One website that offers coupons is savings.com. As the name implies, you will save money when shopping. They offer Barnes Noble coupons when you shop online in their site. I love shopping online myself because it's so convenient. I just use my debit card in paying and they will deliver my order in just a few days. I don't have to drive and go to a crowded mall not to mention that I can money for the gas. I will have to add this in my list to shop products. I want to avail of the discount coupons that they offer. Christmas is not far from now and it's good to shop early for my loved ones.

Yesterday, I asked my hubby to take me to the store to buy a headband. While we were on the store, hubby was tagging along behind me. I went to chose a headband, then I saw that they have lots of new purses that were on display. I love purses so I decided to buy one for me. My hubby said I only went there for a headband, but I bought a purse. Anyways, I shopped using my Paypal debit card which means I used my earnings from blogging. After working my butt out, it's time to reward myself. My hubby can't really complain, he was just making comments. Below is the purse that I bought. I used it today in the church and some ladies said my purse is pretty.

I got this tag from Esther and Sheng. Thank you so much my dear friends. I appreciate it.
We need friends for many reasons,
all throughout the season.
We need friends to comfort us
when we are sad,
and to have fun with us when we are glad.
We need friends to give us good advice,
We need someone we can count on,
and treat us nice.
We need friends to remember us
one we have passed
sharing memories that will always last.
Spread the poem of friendship.

It's been almost 2 months since I had my citizenship interview last June 18 and passed it but until now I'm still waiting for the schedule of my oath ceremony. They USCIS officer who interviewed me required me to submit to them a police clearance through mail because my fingerprints could not be processed by the FBI. Imagine, they had to re-take my fingerprints twice but still they were not able to process it. I wonder what was wrong with my finger prints because when they took my finger prints, the computer said "passed". Now it caused me delay in waiting for my oath ceremony. The officer who interviewed me only told me to submit a police clearance from the city where I resided for the past 3 years. I did sent it 2 days after my interview. It took more than one a half month before I heard from them last August 6. They were requiring me to submit 2 more police clearance from the 2 cities where we previously resided. I wonder why it took them so long to tell me that. They should have told me that I needed to submit those 3 police clearances before I went for the citizenship interview. I have been waiting for so long now. What a delay! The USCIS are not organized and it took them so long to process paperworks.
So last Wednesday, my hubby and I went to get the police clearance from Iowa Park and last Friday, we drove all the way to Alvarado to get the police clearance there. We spent a lot of money for the gas already not to mention the foods that we ate in the restaurant. The money and the effort is nothing compared to the long wait that I've been experiencing right now. Anyways, I already mailed the 2 police clearance that they required last Monday and I hope that the USCIS will schedule my oath ceremony soon. My friends in the church kept on asking me when will I swear in. They wanted to attend it. I told them I'll let them know as soon as I will get the schedule of my oath ceremony from the USCIS. I'm patiently waiting, that's all I can do and of course I pray to the good Lord.

I was talking with my brother online early this morning and then I was about to sign off. Before doing that, I checked first triple P for opps. You know what? I just can't believe it that I got a very high paying opp this morning in triple P. Imagine I just took 1 opp and I am one of the top earners as early as 10 AM. It's the first time that I caught a big fish and I'm so happy, he-he!!!
Last night I was so disappointed because there were lots of opps but they were all gray already. I was chasing one opp for $20 but it was taking too long to respond when I reserved it only to find out that all the available posts were all taken. So I just went to bed early and I was telling my hubby about my disappointment. I only made $10 yesterday. He said it was not meant to be and he told me to be thankful for whatever the good Lord has given me. I said I'm thankful to God for all His blessings and provisions. Today, the good Lord has blessed me beyond my expectations. Thank you Lord and I praise your name. To God be the glory!

Last year my hubby and I were invited by our friends in the church to go on vacation with them to Cookson Hill, Oklahoma. We stayed in a vacation house and the place was so clean, organized and so peaceful. It's like we were home away from home. We attended the Balloon Festival in Tahlequah. The Balloon Festival features approximately 60 hot-air balloons of every size, color, shape, and variety. The festival boasts a free children's area with all sorts of activities and events including clowns and a youth hot-air balloon contest. A variety of vendors and entertainers were also on hand serving up mouth-watering food, live entertainment, arts and crafts, as well as displays and activities throughout the weekend. There was also an Extreme Wheelin' show and Classic Cars show.
It was my first time to attend it and I was so fascinated in watching those colorful balloons at night. We were at the park and we waited until they lighted and flew those balloons. They call it balloon glow. Then the next day, we were there again to watch the flying of the balloons. There was also a live concert which entertained us while waiting on the balloons to fly. We really had a good time.

2. I was able to grabbed a high paying opp and did my post.
3. My hubby and I traveled to Alvarado to get a police clearance to be submitted to the CIS.
4. We went to Cleburne and visited Shelly, Robert and Josh.
5. We had supper at Shelly's house to celebrate her birthday. Hubby and I love her Green Chili Enchilada.
6. Had a bonding time with the Brownlees.
I want to tag Cecil, Anagore and Francine.
Just got home this afternoon from Cleburne. The wedding that we're supposed to attend will be held tonight at 7 PM. We thought it will be held this morning. Hubby was in a hurry to go home because he has to prepare his message for tomorrow in our church. He will be preaching tomorrow night and he needs to finish his sermon outline and be prepared for tomorrow night. So we are not able to attend the wedding.
Anyways, I got the police clearance from Alvarado that I needed to submit to the CIS so all the requirements for my citizenship will be complete. I will send it on Monday. Hopefully, they will schedule my oath ceremony soon. I want to get my naturalization certificate so I can apply for my US passport.
Happy weekend everyone. Hope you all have a good time.

Hubby and I will be out of town tomorrow morning until Saturday. We will be attending a wedding in Alvarado and also I have to get a police clearance that the CIS is requiring me to submit to them. To my visitors here and EC droppers, I will get back to you as soon as we get back home. We have to be here Saturday afternoon or evening because my hubby will be preaching in our church Sunday night. Our pastor will be out of state for a week so he assigned my hubby and other preachers in our church to preach in his absence. See ya folks...
We had a cooler weather yesterday and today. After 12 consecutive days of hot weather, I felt relieved because the temperature dropped down all of a sudden. Whew, the temps in Texas is really weird! Sometimes it's hot and then the temperature changed drastically and it becomes cold. It's like a fickle-minded lady that it changes so quickly. For the past 5 years since I've been living here in Texas, I'm still not used to this kind of weather. I still wish that if my hubby and I have the means, we want to go to the north on summer and come back here in Texas during winter. We just want to escape the heat. That's wishful thinking but there's no harm in dreaming.

It's been so hot here in Texas these past couple of weeks. Just imagine, the temperature hit the triple digit mark for 12 consecutive days already. It's awfully hot! I don't even want to go out because the heat is so unbearable. It's hot also in the Philippines during summer but summer here in Texas is worst. When I wash our clothes, I don't put them in the dryer no more. I just hang them in the clothes line outside and in a matter of 30 minutes, they are already dry. That's how hot it is. I just wish summer will be over and fall will be here.

I can't thank God enough for all the blessings that He has given me. He's been so faithful and His mercies never end. All these years God is my refuge and strength. In times of trials and troubles, He's always there to carry me through.
I celebrated my birthday today with just me and my hubby. We didn't go anywhere. We just ate at the house because I cooked meatloaf, pancit and lumpia. It's a simple celebration but I'm happy and contented. As early as yesterday, my hubby gave me my birthday presents, a matching silver necklace and bracelet with crystal stones that glitter like diamonds. They are so pretty and I like them. Before my birthday, I told my hubby that I'm not requesting any particular gift like I used to. I told him it's up to him what he wants to give me. So I was surprised when he gave me the jewelries yesterday. I hugged and kissed him. He asked me if I like his gifts. Of course I do like it. Hubby knows that I love jewelries. But my hubby is the best gift that God has given me. I won't trade him for anything else.
I thank God for everything. I thank God for all the years that He has given me and I thank Him for my life. Without Him I won't be in this world.

I got tired looking at my old template here so I decided to change it again. I get bored looking at the same style everyday so time to replace it. I tried to make my own header this time with my limited knowledge. I did it with trial and error using scrapbook and put my photo in my header. I'm not as good as the others who personalize their headers and make it very nice. It's my first attempt to make my own header and I am happy with the outcome for now.

Hubby and I went to my massage therapist and both of us got massaged this morning. It's the first time that my hubby agreed to have a massage. I've been asking him to get a massage too but he kept saying no. So for the past 2 years, I was the only one being massaged. My massage therapist will be closing his clinic on the 31st of this month because he'll be moving to Wisconsin. I told my hubby that he needs to have a massage before that. Besides, my masseur gave us a free massage coupon redeemable before he close his clinic. So both of us went this morning and I was able to convince my hubby to get a massage to. He's been complaining of lower back pain and also his ankle. I was the one who had the massage first and after that it was my hubby's turn. One hour for each of us. I felt so relaxed after my massage session so does my hubby. He said he felt a lot better than when we went in. He also said that he can run a race now, he-he! I told my masseur that we will both go back there before he closes his clinic. His asking fee is the lowest in town and he's so friendly to us. We'll surely gonna miss him when he leave. I have to find another massage therapist when he leaves.
