Be Careful How You Vote...
When the barber goes to open his shop the next morning there is a 'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.
Later, a baker comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The baker is happy and leaves the shop.
The next morning when the barber goes to open up there is a 'thank you' card and a dozen cupcakes waiting for him at his door.
Later that day, a college professor comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing
community service this week.' The professor is very happy and leaves the shop.
The next morning when the barber opens his shop, there is a 'thank you' card and a dozen different books, such as 'How to Improve Your Business' and 'Becoming More Successful.'
'Then, a Congressman comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The Congressman is very happy and leaves the shop.
The next morning when the barber goes to open up there are a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.
And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the members of our Congress.
Vote VERY carefully this year.
Another Award

This award was given to me by my new online friend Laura a couple of days ago. I was just busy with other things that's why it's only now that I posted it. Anyways, thank you so much Laura for this award and for thinking of me.
I want to pass this to Ging, Bless, Janet, Gigi and Gen. Come on gurls, take it away.

How to Make Fresh Flowers Last Longer
Steps
1. Place flowers in water as soon as possible. Once the stems of flowers have been cut, you have removed their life support system.
2. Fill a plastic bucket a third to half way with warm water. Warm water should be used as flowers take up warm water more readily than cold. Its preferable to add preservative to the water. (The use of preservatives is explained further on). Flowers only drink through the ends of the stems and not through the sides of the stems, and for this reason buckets should not be filled right up to the top with water, as foliage left on stems below the water line will rot and pollute the water. This will cause bacteria and the flowers will die more quickly. The foliage of marigolds, chrysanthemums, stock and daisies send off a particularly strong odour when left standing under water over a period of time.
3. Take the bucket of water into the garden with you. Use a sharp pair of secateurs and cut the flower stems on an angle - a slanted cut allows a better intake of water. Remove all foliage from the lower portion of the stems which would stand under the water line. Place the flowers immediately in the water.
4. Avoid overcrowding flowers. Allow enough air to circulate between each flower. Too many flowers crowded together in a bucket may cause the petals to become squashed and bruised. Place the bucket in a cool dark place and allow the flowers to have a long drink before being arranged. When picking short-stemmed flowers, use a smaller container.
5. Allow flowers to have a good drink for four to five hours, preferably overnight before arranging. This step is called conditioning. It allows the stems to fill up with water and the flowers will become crisp. These flowers will last twice as long as those that have not been conditioned properly.
6. Use a flower preservative destroy bacteria in the water. Flower preservatives are available in garden centres or supermarkets. Another alternative is to use a capful of household bleach in the water. If a preservative is not used, the water needs to be changed and the stems cut on an angle daily. If a preservative is used, the stems do not require recutting and water needs changing only about twice a week. Flowers like freesias, spray carnations and liliums have lots of buds. By using a preservative in the water, it helps develop the buds to open.

Welcome Signs

I love taking pictures infront of the welcome signs of the states that we visited. I got this idea from my friend Sofia. I think this is a good idea to take souvenir shots of the states that we've been to. That's the reason that I prefer to travel by car rather than by airplane because I get to see other states that we passed by. I just got here in the US when we drove to Iowa and we passed by a few states like Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. We didn't stop to take photos in the welcome signs. I didn't have this idea yet of taking photos in front of the welcome signs. But it's good we took the photos of the welcome signs of the states we passed by when we went to Colorado last summer. Also I had my photo taken in front of the welcome sign when we went to Oklahoma. I love sight-seeing and taking pictures. I enjoy looking at the wonderful creations of our Lord. It's awesome! Makes me love Him more and more.

Just Can't Believe It!
Oh my gosh, these are just nuts. What is this world coming to??? Every year these just get more and more ridiculous! It's even hard to imagine they are for real...
It is time again for the annual Stella Awards!
For those unfamiliar with these awards, they are named
after 81-year-old Stella Liebeck who spilled hot coffee on herself and
successfully sued the McDonald's in New Mexico where
she purchased the coffee. You remember, she took the lid off the
coffee and put it between her knees while she was driving. Who would ever
think one could get burned doing that, right?
That's right; these are awards for the most outlandish
lawsuits and verdicts in the U.S. You know, the kinds of cases that make
you scratch your head. So keep your head scratcher handy.
Here are the Stella's for the past year:
7TH PLACE :
Kathleen Robertson of Austin , Texas was awarded $80,000
by a jury of her peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler
who was running inside a furniture store. The store owners were
understandably surprised by the verdict, considering
the running toddler was her own son.
6TH PLACE :
Carl Truman, 19, of Los Angeles , California won $74,000
plus medical expenses when his neighbor ran over his
hand with a Honda Accord. Truman apparently didn't notice there was
someone at the wheel of the car when he was trying to steal his
neighbor's hubcaps.
Go ahead, grab your head scratcher.
5TH PLACE :
Terrence Dickson, of Bristol , Pennsylvania , who was leaving a house he had just burglarized by way of
the garage.
Unfortunately for Dickson, the automatic garage door opener
malfunctioned and he could not get the garage door to open. Worse, he
couldn't re-enter the house because the door connecting the garage to
the house locked when Dickson pulled it shut
Forced to sit for eight, count 'em, EIGHT, days on a case of
Pepsi and a large bag of dry dog food, he sued the homeowner's insurance
company claiming undue mental anguish. Amazingly, the jury said the
insurance company must pay Dickson $500,000 for his anguish. We should
all have this kind of anguish.
Keep scratching. Oh yes...there are more..
4TH PLACE :
Jerry Williams, of Little Rock , Arkansas , garnered 4th... Place in the Stella's when he was awarded
$14,500 plus medical expenses after being bitten on the butt by his next
door neighbor's beagle - even though the beagle was on a chain in
its owner's fenced yard. Williams did not get as much as he asked for
because the jury believed the beagle might have been provoked at the
time of the butt bite because Williams had climbed over the fence
into the yard and repeatedly shot the dog with a pellet gun.
Grrrrr ... Scratch, scratch.
3RD PLACE :
Amber Carson of Lancaster , Pennsylvania because a jury ordered a Philadelphia restaurant to pay her $113,500 after she slipped on a spilled soft drink and broke her tailbone. The
reason the soft drink was on the floor--Ms. Carson had thrown it at
her boyfriend 30 seconds earlier during an argument. What ever
happened to people being responsible for their own actions?
Scratch, scratch, scratch. Hang in there; there are only
two more Stella's to go...
2ND PLACE :
Kara Walton, of Claymont , Delaware sued the owner of a night club in a nearby city because she fell from
the bathroom window to the floor, knocking out her two front teeth. Even
though Ms. Walton was trying to sneak through the ladies room window to
avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge, the jury said the night club had to
pay her $12,000...oh, yeah, plus dental expenses. Go figure.
1ST PLACE : (May I have a fanfare played on 50 kazoos, please!)
This year's runaway First Place Stella Award winner was Mrs. Merv Grazinski, of Oklahoma City , OK , who
purchased a new 32-foot Winnebago motor home. On her first trip home, from
an OU football game, having driven onto the freeway, she set the cruise
control at 70 mph and calmly left the driver's seat to go to the back of
the Winnebago to make herself a sandwich. Not surprisingly, the motor home left the freeway,
crashed and overturned. Also not surprisingly, Mrs. Grazinski sued Winnebago
for not putting in the owner's manual that she couldn't actually leave
the driver's seat while the cruise control was set. The Oklahoma jury
awarded her, are you sitting down, $1,750,000 PLUS a new motor home.
Winnebago actually changed their manuals as a result of this suit, just
in case Mrs. Grazinski has any relatives who might also buy a motor home .

Marriage, Relationships & Life

What a girl needs most is love. What a guy needs most is respect.
The most important thing for a girl is her heart. For a guy its his ego.
Give your man his own time and space. Let him have his time for his
friends, sports, family, self, and God. The relationship will grow old quickly if lagi
kayong magkasama. Give him time to miss you and you'll see how he will love you more.
If the guy naman is obsessed and just wants to be with you all the time,
tell him you can't respect a "puppy" for long.
Do things differently anytime.Para kahit matagal na kayo, there is always
something fresh and new. Variety is the spice of life. Exciting baga?
Discover something you both like to do and enjoy it TWOgether. Doon naman
sa mga bagay na magkaiba ang hilig nyo, compliment each other by learning about it
kahit konti.
If you love someone, yung effort nyo to try will go a looooong way to
understand him later pag may disagreement kayo.
Pray with holding hands. Sounds corny noh? Maybe, but its very powerful.
Pag may takot sa Diyos ang partner mo, kampante ka na di ka nya lolokohin, because
He knows God sees everything he does in secret. Ikaw na ang magkusa that
Before you part after date, with hands held and eyes closed, pray to God to bless
you two. Believe me it's effective. Kailanman, di corny ang magdasal.
Believe in "Magic". Kahit minsan di practical o walang logical na dahilan,
o matrabaho, o sounds crazy sa iba, do sweet little things for the one you love kahit
magmukha ka ng timang. The memories will be fun to recall later in life. The corniest song o gift
o letter ang laging kabog.
True love brings out the best in each other. Find something good in your
Partner and nurture it, encourage it and syempre, ENJOY it.
It's healthy to fight. Doon nyo lang maaayos ang mga differences nyo at
natetest ang tatag ng relationship. Doon mo rin sya makikilala ng mabuti. Its called
test of fire. Di mahalaga how dalas you fight. What matters is how often you make bati.
Mas nakakatakot yung relasyong sobrang perfect at laging masaya. One big fight
and that's it! And diba mas kilig yung malambing na... "uy, bati na
tayo...". But don't overdo it. Kakapagod naman din na lagi na lang manuyo o magsori. Choose the battles
na papatulan mo.
Daraan sa iba't-ibang stages ang love especially pag matagal na kayo. Grow
with it. Don't expect him to be like nung una. 'Coz like a student, di na ituturo sa
grade 6 yung lessons na pang-grade 2. Change WILL happen... you both will change and
your love WILL change too. It's up to you na lang if the change will be for the
better or for the worse. Life is about growth. Grow with it.
When break up comes and it's time to say goodbye, don't doubt the love just
Because it didn't last. May mga bagay sa buhay na di man nagtatagal, it doesn't
mean di na ito totoo. Some good things are just never meant to last forever. Okay lang yon.
Bless the parting and move on.
Expect tears, sorrow, sleepless nights and pain. Ika nga "it's when you
hurt the worse that you love the MOST." Kung di ka willing masaktan, wag ka na lang
magmahal.
Life is a balance. And love is both holding on and letting go. Know when to
fight for your man or woman and when to let him go. God will guide you kung anong
dapat gawin sa kung anong sitwasyon. So dapat mataas ang signal ng langit sa
cellfone ng puso mo to know His wisdom.

Get Your Real Rank
Dashboard Problem
We have had an intermittent issue for the past few months with the stats on the dashboard not displaying correctly. Please know that this has not affected anything other than the way that your data is displayed. Your payouts and approvals have not been lost or altered. Our Dev team is currently working on a solution to this issue.
So I will be paid for all the posts that I submitted, only the total amount that I will receive is not showing correctly. I will just make my own journal for all the money that I make so I will have an idea of how much will be paid to me. By the way I received today the total earnings I made in PPP last year for tax filing. The thing is, my hubby already filed our joint account income tax return. This IZEA tax return came in late. Hubby said the amount I made last year is not that much to worry about.

Hello My Friend

My friend Norm gave this meme and I wanna thank her. I would love to pass this to Ging, Juliana, Lorie and Vicky.
Why God Made Friends
God made the world with a heart full of love
Then He looked down from heaven above
And saw that we all need a helping hand
Someone to share with, who`ll understand
He made special people to see us through
In times of happiness and in sadness
A person whom we can always depend
Someone we can call a friend
I Turned Down An Offer Again
Poem To Mom
Poem To Mom
My son came home from school one day,
With a smirk upon his face.
He decided he was smart enough,
To put me in my place.
'Guess what I learned in Civics Two,
that's taught by Mr.. Wright?
It's all about the laws today,
The 'Children's Bill of Rights.'
It says I need not clean my room,
Don't have to cut my hair
No one can tell me what to think,
Or speak, or what to wear.
I have freedom from religion,
And regardless what you say,
I don't have to bow my head,
And I sure don't have to pray.
I can wear earrings if I want,
And pierce my tongue & nose.
I can read & watch just what I l ike,
Get tattoos from head to toe.
And if you ever spank me,
I'll charge you with a crime .
I'll back up all my charges,
With the marks on my behind.
Don't you ever touch me,
My body's only for my use,
Not for your hugs and kisses,
that's just more child abuse.
Don't preach about your morals,
Like your Mama did to you.
That's nothing more than mind control,
And it's illegal too!
Mom, I have these children's rights,
So you can't influence me,
Or I'll call Children's Services Division,
Better known as C.S.D.'
Mom's Reply and Thoughts
Of course my first instinct was
To toss him out the door.
But the chance to teach him a lesson
Made me think a little more.
I mulled it over carefully,
I couldn't let this go.
A smile crept upon my face,
he's messing with a pro.
Next day I took him shopping
At the local Goodwill Store..
I told him, 'Pick out all you want,
there's shirts & pants galore.
I've called and checked with C.S.D
Who said they didn't care
If I bought you K-Mart shoes
Instead of those Nike Airs.
I've canceled that appointment
To take your driver's test.
The C.S.D. Is unconcerned
So I'll decide what's best.'
I said 'No time to stop and eat,
Or pick up stuff to munch.
And tomorrow you can start to learn
To make your own sack lunch.
Just save the raging appetite,
And wait till dinner time.
We're having liver and onions,
A favorite dish of mine.'
He asked 'Can I please rent a movie,
To watch on my VCR?'
'Sorry, but I sold your TV,
For new tires on my car.
I also rented out your room,
You'll take the couch instead.
The C.S.D . Requires
Just a roof over your head.
Your clothing won't be trendy now,
I'll choose what we eat.
T hat allowance that you used to get,
Will buy me something neat.
I'm selling off your jet ski,
Dirt-bike & roller blades.
Check out the 'Parents Bill of Rights',
It's in effect today!
Hey hot shot, are you crying,
Why are you on your knees?
Are you asking God to help you out,
Instead of C.S.D..?'
This is for all people that have teenagers or have
already raised teenagers,
Or have children who will soon be teenagers or those
who will be parents someday

Pecan Tree

This is one of our 4 pecan trees at the back of our house. This pic was taken last spring. The leaves were so green then but now that tree is bald and also all our other trees. I harvested a lot pecans this year though. I sold a bunch of pecans this year and I also gave away some of it last Christmas. The other year we didn't have any pecans at all because of the heat. Pecans didn't bear fruits. It's good this time we have more pecans than we can use.
Grass

These grass were planted beside our house. They've been here when we bought the house. It spread so fast, easy to maintain and the flowers last a long time. Even on winter they don't die. These grass is good for landscaping and also for borders in your flower garden. These grass has weird name though, it's called MONKEY GRASS.

Purses
I love buying purses and shoes. I think that's most women's weakness. My hubby said that I have more purses than I can use. He maybe right but I told him that I just want to match my purse with my clothes and shoes that's why I want different colors and styles. Most of the purses I have were bought when they were on sale. I don't buy it on regular price. I wait till they mark down the prices. I bought some of my purses when I was still working at JC Penney and also I bought some in the BX when I was working at the base. Some of my purses were given to me by my friends who really have good hearts. The Guess and Benetton bags were from my friend Arlene. I wish I can afford to buy those signature bags like Coach or Donny & Burk but they cost so much. I think it's not practical for me to buy it but if somebody would give it to me as a gift, I would be too happy to take it, he-he-he!
