Flower Festival In Baguio City

My li'l sister Violy e-mailed me a lot of their photos yesterday. I was just so fascinated looking at their photos taken during the Panagbenga (Flower Festival) in Baguio City. I used to attend that event every year when I was still in the Philippines. Hubby haven't seen it yet and maybe next year, God's willing we will be there. During the Panagbenga, aside from the street dancing and floats competition, they have also the landscaping contest. People there are so creative and artistic and the landscapes will really capture your eyes if you're a nature lover. Here are the photos:

Be Careful How You Vote...

One day a florist goes to a barber for a haircut. After the cut he asked about his bill and the barber replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The florist was pleased and left the shop.

When the barber goes to open his shop the next morning there is a 'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a baker comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The baker is happy and leaves the shop.

The next morning when the barber goes to open up there is a 'thank you' card and a dozen cupcakes waiting for him at his door.

Later that day, a college professor comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing
community service this week.' The professor is very happy and leaves the shop.

The next morning when the barber opens his shop, there is a 'thank you' card and a dozen different books, such as 'How to Improve Your Business' and 'Becoming More Successful.'

'Then, a Congressman comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The Congressman is very happy and leaves the shop.

The next morning when the barber goes to open up there are a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the members of our Congress.

Vote VERY carefully this year.

Another Award

This award was given to me by my new online friend Laura a couple of days ago. I was just busy with other things that's why it's only now that I posted it. Anyways, thank you so much Laura for this award and for thinking of me.

I want to pass this to Ging, Bless, Janet, Gigi and Gen. Come on gurls, take it away.

Our Supper Last Night

Yesterday night after attending church, I told my hubby that I'm so hungry and I need to eat right away. I don't intend to cook because when I'm hungry I really need to eat right quick. So we stopped by at Subway on the way home. Hubby bought 2 footlong sandwiches for the 2 of us. I ordered 6" tuna sandwich and another 6" roast beef sandwich. My hubby got a footlong turkey and ham sandwich. I only ate the tuna sandwich last night and I ate the roast beef sandwich this lunch. Every Sunday, Subway has a promo of buy 2 footlong sandwiches for only $9.99 so we had a good deal. I love Subway sandwich because it has lots of veggies in it.

My Scrapbook Works

What a beautiful day today to be in the house of the Lord. Hubby and I went to church and listened to the word of God that was preached by our pastor. I always look forward to go to church and worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. After church, my hubby cooked our lunch. He prepared burger patties and he baked it. He knows that I prefer baked than fried. And you know what, it turned out good. We still have some of the tuna casserole that he made yesterday. After we ate, we took some photos in our porch. Then I made some scrapbooks. That's what I've been doing for the last couple of hours. Scrap booking takes a while to do it. It's been some time since I did scrap book because I've been busy doing some paid blogging. Now I took the time and here are some of my works that I did today. This blog is best viewed using Firefox browser.

How to Make Fresh Flowers Last Longer

How wonderful it is when someone presents you with flowers, wrapped in paper or in a box, straight from the florist. It seems to say that "I am thinking of you", in such a warm and romantic way. Making them last longer will add to your enjoyment of them, so they will not wither and wilt so fast.

1. Place flowers in water as soon as possible. Once the stems of flowers have been cut, you have removed their life support system.

2. Fill a plastic bucket a third to half way with warm water. Warm water should be used as flowers take up warm water more readily than cold. Its preferable to add preservative to the water. (The use of preservatives is explained further on). Flowers only drink through the ends of the stems and not through the sides of the stems, and for this reason buckets should not be filled right up to the top with water, as foliage left on stems below the water line will rot and pollute the water. This will cause bacteria and the flowers will die more quickly. The foliage of marigolds, chrysanthemums, stock and daisies send off a particularly strong odour when left standing under water over a period of time.

3. Take the bucket of water into the garden with you. Use a sharp pair of secateurs and cut the flower stems on an angle - a slanted cut allows a better intake of water. Remove all foliage from the lower portion of the stems which would stand under the water line. Place the flowers immediately in the water.

4. Avoid overcrowding flowers. Allow enough air to circulate between each flower. Too many flowers crowded together in a bucket may cause the petals to become squashed and bruised. Place the bucket in a cool dark place and allow the flowers to have a long drink before being arranged. When picking short-stemmed flowers, use a smaller container.

5. Allow flowers to have a good drink for four to five hours, preferably overnight before arranging. This step is called conditioning. It allows the stems to fill up with water and the flowers will become crisp. These flowers will last twice as long as those that have not been conditioned properly.

6. Use a flower preservative destroy bacteria in the water. Flower preservatives are available in garden centres or supermarkets. Another alternative is to use a capful of household bleach in the water. If a preservative is not used, the water needs to be changed and the stems cut on an angle daily. If a preservative is used, the stems do not require recutting and water needs changing only about twice a week. Flowers like freesias, spray carnations and liliums have lots of buds. By using a preservative in the water, it helps develop the buds to open.

Chat Using Skype

I chatted with my sister and my brother in-law the other day using Skype. I think this is better than Yahoo IM. We used our webcams and microphones to see and talk to each other. The sound is so clear and I had a good time talking with my sister and her hubby. They said it's like they were talking to me face to face. They even took a snapshot of me in their webcam. I took their photo too using my webcam. I was really so happy talking and seeing them in the webcam. Next time, my whole family will be there because the other day, most of them were already sleeping. It was morning here and night time there. I recommend Skype if you want to chat and talk to your family abroad. Here's the photo of my sister and her hubby that I took while talking to them online using Skype..

New Look

I just got tired of the old template of my blog so I decided to change it. I chose this simple black template with three columns. It's a total change of color, from red to black template. I noticed though that if I'm using IE browser, my blog's look is different. The photos become black and white. But when I use Firefox browser, my blog looks better and the photos are colored. Hmmm...makes me wonder. It's good I'm using Firefox and the look of my blog is better, he-he-he. Anyways, I'll stick to this template for now until I get tired looking at the same template. Then I will change it again.

Welcome Signs

I love taking pictures infront of the welcome signs of the states that we visited. I got this idea from my friend Sofia. I think this is a good idea to take souvenir shots of the states that we've been to. That's the reason that I prefer to travel by car rather than by airplane because I get to see other states that we passed by. I just got here in the US when we drove to Iowa and we passed by a few states like Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. We didn't stop to take photos in the welcome signs. I didn't have this idea yet of taking photos in front of the welcome signs. But it's good we took the photos of the welcome signs of the states we passed by when we went to Colorado last summer. Also I had my photo taken in front of the welcome sign when we went to Oklahoma. I love sight-seeing and taking pictures. I enjoy looking at the wonderful creations of our Lord. It's awesome! Makes me love Him more and more.

How Time Flies!

It's exactly 4 years today since hubby and I repeated our vows here in the US. Of course we got married in the Philippines before I came over here. It's just that hubby wanted his family, kins and friends to attend our wedding so we agreed to have another wedding here in Texas. It was supposed to be held on Valentine's Day but since it snowed that day, we had to postpone it the next day. Snow is a big thing here in Texas because we don't get it that often. People here are not used to traveling on a snowy weather. I remember, hubby had to call all his relatives and friends to inform them that our wedding is postponed the next day. And you know what, the next day was already clear of snow. Snow here only lasted for a day and it melts so fast, huh! I met my hubby's relatives in our wedding reception and some of them I haven't met before. We had lots of foods during our wedding day and we had lots of leftovers like beef briskets, potato salad, pancit, lumpia and a lot more. How time flies that 4 years had already passed since then. Time goes by so fast when you're having fun.

Google Updated Again and I'm Their Victim For The 2nd Time

Yes, the mighty Google updated again and took away my PR3 and dropped it to a big, fat 0. After only a month of enjoying it and doing some PPP blogging, here comes this killjoy Google. I don't even know what's their basis in taking away PR because as far as traffic is concern, I do have a considerable traffic in my blog. This is my 2nd blog that Google had taken away the PR and it's making me nuts. My Friendster blog had a PR2 and I was doing PPP blogging in that blog of mine and after 1 1/2 months, my PR dropped to a fat 0. After all the effort I did to earn that PR, suddenly it just turned to nothing. The sad thing is most advertisers are after the PR. I think Google is becoming unfair. They don't want us bloggers to earn money. They know that no PR, no earnings for bloggers. The thing that make me puzzled is that my other blog which is PR1 since November and I hardly update it, is still PR1 until now. I also do PPP blogging there. The traffic of that blog is not that high either. Google, where is your consistency and what's the basis of taking away PR? When will this ever end?

Just Can't Believe It!

While I was reading the following in my e-mail, I can't help but wonder how those US juries based their verdicts on those lawsuits. Are Americans dumb? It makes you think that way after reading it.

Oh my gosh, these are just nuts. What is this world coming to??? Every year these just get more and more ridiculous! It's even hard to imagine they are for real...

It is time again for the annual Stella Awards!

For those unfamiliar with these awards, they are named
after 81-year-old Stella Liebeck who spilled hot coffee on herself and
successfully sued the McDonald's in New Mexico where
she purchased the coffee. You remember, she took the lid off the
coffee and put it between her knees while she was driving. Who would ever
think one could get burned doing that, right?

That's right; these are awards for the most outlandish
lawsuits and verdicts in the U.S. You know, the kinds of cases that make
you scratch your head. So keep your head scratcher handy.

Here are the Stella's for the past year:

Kathleen Robertson of Austin , Texas was awarded $80,000
by a jury of her peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler
who was running inside a furniture store. The store owners were
understandably surprised by the verdict, considering
the running toddler was her own son.

Carl Truman, 19, of Los Angeles , California won $74,000
plus medical expenses when his neighbor ran over his
hand with a Honda Accord. Truman apparently didn't notice there was
someone at the wheel of the car when he was trying to steal his
neighbor's hubcaps.

Go ahead, grab your head scratcher.

Terrence Dickson, of Bristol , Pennsylvania , who was leaving a house he had just burglarized by way of
the garage.
Unfortunately for Dickson, the automatic garage door opener
malfunctioned and he could not get the garage door to open. Worse, he
couldn't re-enter the house because the door connecting the garage to
the house locked when Dickson pulled it shut
Forced to sit for eight, count 'em, EIGHT, days on a case of
Pepsi and a large bag of dry dog food, he sued the homeowner's insurance
company claiming undue mental anguish. Amazingly, the jury said the
insurance company must pay Dickson $500,000 for his anguish. We should
all have this kind of anguish.

Keep scratching. Oh yes...there are more..

Jerry Williams, of Little Rock , Arkansas , garnered 4th... Place in the Stella's when he was awarded
$14,500 plus medical expenses after being bitten on the butt by his next
door neighbor's beagle - even though the beagle was on a chain in
its owner's fenced yard. Williams did not get as much as he asked for
because the jury believed the beagle might have been provoked at the
time of the butt bite because Williams had climbed over the fence
into the yard and repeatedly shot the dog with a pellet gun.

Grrrrr ... Scratch, scratch.

Amber Carson of Lancaster , Pennsylvania because a jury ordered a Philadelphia restaurant to pay her $113,500 after she slipped on a spilled soft drink and broke her tailbone. The
reason the soft drink was on the floor--Ms. Carson had thrown it at
her boyfriend 30 seconds earlier during an argument. What ever
happened to people being responsible for their own actions?

Scratch, scratch, scratch. Hang in there; there are only
two more Stella's to go...

Kara Walton, of Claymont , Delaware sued the owner of a night club in a nearby city because she fell from
the bathroom window to the floor, knocking out her two front teeth. Even
though Ms. Walton was trying to sneak through the ladies room window to
avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge, the jury said the night club had to
pay her $12,000...oh, yeah, plus dental expenses. Go figure.

1ST PLACE : (May I have a fanfare played on 50 kazoos, please!)

This year's runaway First Place Stella Award winner was Mrs. Merv Grazinski, of Oklahoma City , OK , who
purchased a new 32-foot Winnebago motor home. On her first trip home, from
an OU football game, having driven onto the freeway, she set the cruise
control at 70 mph and calmly left the driver's seat to go to the back of
the Winnebago to make herself a sandwich. Not surprisingly, the motor home left the freeway,
crashed and overturned. Also not surprisingly, Mrs. Grazinski sued Winnebago
for not putting in the owner's manual that she couldn't actually leave
the driver's seat while the cruise control was set. The Oklahoma jury
awarded her, are you sitting down, $1,750,000 PLUS a new motor home.
Winnebago actually changed their manuals as a result of this suit, just
in case Mrs. Grazinski has any relatives who might also buy a motor home .

Electronics Store

I do enjoy using electronic gadgets and appliances. They come in handy when I need them. I don't know any people here in the US who doesn't own any electronic gadgets or appliances. This is a rich country and most people can afford to buy and own electronic gadgets. If somebody would want to ask me what gift do I want on any occasion, I would definitely say electronics like camcorder, iPod or MP3 DVD player. I can even suggest where they can buy it for a discounted price. Abt Electronics is an online provider and leading retailer of quality consumer electronics and appliances. They've been on the business since 1936. They do same day shipping on most items and they offer free shipping.

Hubby's Not Feeling Well

My hubby went to work early this morning. At around 9:20 AM, he was home. I asked him if he's not feeling well. He said yes, he's not feeling well. It started yesterday and I thought he was already okay last night. I touched his forehead and he has a fever. So he stayed home today. I cooked chicken pot pie for our supper tonight. I'm glad he has the appetite to eat though he has a fever, cough and colds. He likes my home-made chicken pot pie. I hope and pray that hubby will get well soon.

We Stayed Home

My hubby and I missed church today. I don't want to miss the Sunday worship service because I want to worship the Lord in His house. This morning, hubby was not feeling well. He had a fever. I told him he surely got the virus from me. So we decided to stay home and not go to church. We don't want to infect other people and pass the germs. We just stayed in the house all day long. It's good hubby was feeling better this afternoon.

I Got A Medal!

This medal of awesomeness award was given to me by Cecil. Thanks sis for thinking of me. Am I awesome? I think this word is most fitting in describing our Creator. He's awesome in all His creations in this world!

I want to pass this medal to Tess, Norm, Nancy and Sarah.

We Missed An Occasion

Hubby and I missed the Tender Hearts Banquet in our church tonight. This is a fund-raising for the teens who will go to summer camp. We bought two tickets for the said occasion but since I still have colds, I decided not to go. I don't wanna pass the germs to others there. I told my hubby that he can go alone so he can eat good supper and he will just take home my meal. But he doesn't wanna go without me. He was lying in the couch watching tv and now he's fast asleep there in the living room. I had to turned off the tv. He missed supper already.

Show Me The Money

Borrowers can pay off mortgage early by keeping payments up. This is really true and my hubby believes in this too. When he bought his truck, he paid more than what he's supposed to pay every month that's why he was able to finish paying it sooner than expected. He was never late or missed a single payment. So whatever mortgage you have, whether it's a First Time Buyer Mortgage try to keep up with the payments or even better, pay it more than what you're supposed to pay monthly if you can afford it. In that way, you will finish the payments early and you can have extra money that you can spend on other things like going on a vacation in other country.

Prayer Works

I felt a lot better now than yesterday. How amazing is the healing touch of the Lord that He has done to me! Yesterday was really the worst day since I got sick Tuesday. With all the cough, fever and colds, I didn't have the appetite to eat. I felt weak and nauseated too. When my hubby got home yesterday afternoon, he cooked chicken soup for me. I also managed to cook a beef stew because I wanted something that will appease my appetite. I was able to eat just a little bit so my stomach will not keep on growling. After that I suddenly remembered to call The 700 Club and requested a prayer for my healing. I told the guy about my illness and he prayed for me over the phone. I felt peace while he was praying for me. I thanked him after that. Then I called one of my friends from the church and I told her that I am not feeling well. She's supposed to come to our house for lunch on Sunday after church but since I'm not feeling well, I told her that we'll postpone our lunch together. I don't want to pass the germs or virus to other people. She told me that 2 of the ladies in our church were suffering the same problem too. So the germs had spread around. Then I requested her to pray for me. After I talked to her, I called one of the ladies who is sick and I talked to her for a while. I found out that we have the same symptoms, itchy throat, cough, fever and no appetite to eat. But she said she's feeling better last night after almost a week of being sick. We then agreed to pray for each other. Guess what, after the talking, I suddenly felt hungry and went to eat. To my surprise, I had the appetite to eat. I ate the chicken soup and beef stew. Then last night, I was able to sleep peacefully. I still coughed maybe once or twice last night but it wasn't as bad as the other night. This morning, hubby woke up early and he washed the dishes from last night. He asked me if I wanna eat some eggs and I said yes. He cooked scrambled eggs for the two of us. My hubby is so sweet. Last night, he kept telling me that he loves me so much. Through the years, he said that his feelings for me didn't change a bit. Ow, he makes me teary-eyed. How bless I am to have this guy in my life. Before we ate breakfast, I took a shower. Then later on, I went outside to enjoy the sunshine. It's been a few days that I've been hibernating inside the house. I picked up some pecans, then I swept the dried leaves in our front yard. I was really amazed of the healing touch of our Lord and the power of prayers. Three people prayed for my healing last night. Praise be the Lord and bless the Lord oh my soul!

Surprise Visitor

Yesterday I felt really so bad. I didn't sleep good the previous night due to my cough. My throat was itchy and it triggered the cough. My chest was so sore because of coughing. I felt weak yesterday. My stomach was weak and growling but I had no appetite to eat. I didn't eat breakfast and I was just lying in the couch. I felt nauseated too but it's good I didn't throw up. I called my hubby and told him that I can't cook for his lunch. When he came home he cooked something for me, carrots with celery and he put tomato soup. It tasted awful to me. Then I got a surprise visit from my friend Shiela. I haven't seen her in a while. I was so bashful because I looked so haggard, and I haven't even combed my hair. Our house too was a mess because I wasn't able to clean for the past few days due to my illness. I told her I thought she has forgotten me. She said that she dropped by in our house a few times but nobody answered the door. I told her that maybe I was in the computer room when she stopped by and I didn't hear her knock. Shiela gave me fresh shrimps that she bought at the Asian store. She stayed for a while and then she left. I thank God that I have friends like her.

Marriage, Relationships & Life

What a girl needs most is love. What a guy needs most is respect.
The most important thing for a girl is her heart. For a guy its his ego.

Give your man his own time and space. Let him have his time for his
friends, sports, family, self, and God. The relationship will grow old quickly if lagi
kayong magkasama. Give him time to miss you and you'll see how he will love you more.
If the guy naman is obsessed and just wants to be with you all the time,
tell him you can't respect a "puppy" for long.

Do things differently anytime.Para kahit matagal na kayo, there is always
something fresh and new. Variety is the spice of life. Exciting baga?

Discover something you both like to do and enjoy it TWOgether. Doon naman
sa mga bagay na magkaiba ang hilig nyo, compliment each other by learning about it
kahit konti.
If you love someone, yung effort nyo to try will go a looooong way to
understand him later pag may disagreement kayo.

Pray with holding hands. Sounds corny noh? Maybe, but its very powerful.
Pag may takot sa Diyos ang partner mo, kampante ka na di ka nya lolokohin, because
He knows God sees everything he does in secret. Ikaw na ang magkusa that
Before you part after date, with hands held and eyes closed, pray to God to bless
you two. Believe me it's effective. Kailanman, di corny ang magdasal.

Believe in "Magic". Kahit minsan di practical o walang logical na dahilan,
o matrabaho, o sounds crazy sa iba, do sweet little things for the one you love kahit
magmukha ka ng timang. The memories will be fun to recall later in life. The corniest song o gift
o letter ang laging kabog.

True love brings out the best in each other. Find something good in your
Partner and nurture it, encourage it and syempre, ENJOY it.

It's healthy to fight. Doon nyo lang maaayos ang mga differences nyo at
natetest ang tatag ng relationship. Doon mo rin sya makikilala ng mabuti. Its called
test of fire. Di mahalaga how dalas you fight. What matters is how often you make bati.
Mas nakakatakot yung relasyong sobrang perfect at laging masaya. One big fight
and that's it! And diba mas kilig yung malambing na... "uy, bati na
tayo...". But don't overdo it. Kakapagod naman din na lagi na lang manuyo o magsori. Choose the battles
na papatulan mo.

Daraan sa iba't-ibang stages ang love especially pag matagal na kayo. Grow
with it. Don't expect him to be like nung una. 'Coz like a student, di na ituturo sa
grade 6 yung lessons na pang-grade 2. Change WILL happen... you both will change and
your love WILL change too. It's up to you na lang if the change will be for the
better or for the worse. Life is about growth. Grow with it.

When break up comes and it's time to say goodbye, don't doubt the love just
Because it didn't last. May mga bagay sa buhay na di man nagtatagal, it doesn't
mean di na ito totoo. Some good things are just never meant to last forever. Okay lang yon.
Bless the parting and move on.

Expect tears, sorrow, sleepless nights and pain. Ika nga "it's when you

Get Your Real Rank

This rank system in the world of blogging became a big concern of all bloggers who are doing paid blogging like me. In Google, the higher your rank in the scale of 1 to 10, the more opportunities you will get from advertisers. But the sad thing about it, after just a few months of enjoying the page rank, Google will suddenly take away the PR and drop it to zero. I don't know what's their basis in doing that. After all the effort you did to earn that page rank, suddenly it will amount to nothing. I know the disappointments that other bloggers felt about it because I was also a victim of that. One of my blogs' page rank was dropped from 2 to 0. It was really so disappointing. Now, there's a tool that's been launched recently called which ranks bloggers based on actual traffic and influence. IZEARanks uses a piece of javascript to collect and report a rank based on actual traffic. They have a contest now and they are giving away $1000 each week in February to the blog with the #1 RealRank. The code is different from that of PPP, so anyone concerned about a hit from Google need not worry. I think this is cool. I like the way they rank blogs in IZEA. You can see the real rank and traffic of your blogs. I wish more advertisers will patronize it so bloggers like me need not worry no more about being slapped with a zero rank all of a sudden. Bloggers should sign up in this site.

Dashboard Problem

I got an answer from PPP today regarding the problem of my dashboard wherein the pay-outs doesn't display the correct amount that will be paid to me. Here's their answer:

We have had an intermittent issue for the past few months with the stats on the dashboard not displaying correctly. Please know that this has not affected anything other than the way that your data is displayed. Your payouts and approvals have not been lost or altered. Our Dev team is currently working on a solution to this issue.

So I will be paid for all the posts that I submitted, only the total amount that I will receive is not showing correctly. I will just make my own journal for all the money that I make so I will have an idea of how much will be paid to me. By the way I received today the total earnings I made in PPP last year for tax filing. The thing is, my hubby already filed our joint account income tax return. This IZEA tax return came in late. Hubby said the amount I made last year is not that much to worry about.

Top Earner For Now

I just submitted 2 posts tonight and after that I checked the top earners as of 11:38 PM and to my surprise I'm one of them. I know this will change tomorrow when other bloggers will submit their posts. I noticed though that even though I submitted a lot of posts today, the amount that will be paid to me didn't change. I just contacted PPP a while ago to update the amount that they gonna pay me. It seems that PPP is lagging behind. That's all folks. Have to go to bed now.

Chalupa For Me

Tonight my taste buds is still not the same. Food doesn't taste that good due to my colds, cough and fever. I cooked beans but it didn't taste good to me. I really like beans but since I'm not feeling well, food doesn't taste the same. I asked my hubby to buy me a chalupa at Taco Bell. At first he doesn't want to go because he was on the computer but I kept bugging him. He finally went and came back with 2 chalupas. I ate only one and I gave the other one to my hubby. The chalupa doesn't taste that great to my taste buds either like it used to but I managed to eat it all. At least it tasted better to me than the beans.

Hello My Friend

My friend Norm gave this meme and I wanna thank her. I would love to pass this to Ging, Juliana, Lorie and Vicky.

Why God Made Friends

God made the world with a heart full of love
Then He looked down from heaven above
And saw that we all need a helping hand
Someone to share with, who`ll understand

He made special people to see us through
In times of happiness and in sadness
A person whom we can always depend
Someone we can call a friend

I Turned Down An Offer Again

I was just offered to post a text link here in my blog. They gonna pay me $7.50 every month just for putting the link but I turned down that offer. The text link they asked me to put is online casino. I will never blog or endorse anything about gambling in all my blogs because all my blogs doesn't patronize gambling. In fact I already declined a lot of opportunities about gambling. I am a Christian and I will live up to my principles and beliefs. Christians should not blog or endorse any form of gambling. That's my belief. Money is not all that matters. All my blogs will never patronize gambling and that's it.

Poem To Mom

My hubby sent this to my e-mail. I think it's neat and I just wanna share it here.

Poem To Mom

My son came home from school one day,
With a smirk upon his face.
He decided he was smart enough,
To put me in my place.

'Guess what I learned in Civics Two,
that's taught by Mr.. Wright?
It's all about the laws today,
The 'Children's Bill of Rights.'

It says I need not clean my room,
Don't have to cut my hair
No one can tell me what to think,
Or speak, or what to wear.

I have freedom from religion,
And regardless what you say,
I don't have to bow my head,
And I sure don't have to pray.

I can wear earrings if I want,
And pierce my tongue & nose.
I can read & watch just what I l ike,
Get tattoos from head to toe.

And if you ever spank me,
I'll charge you with a crime .
I'll back up all my charges,
With the marks on my behind.

Don't you ever touch me,
My body's only for my use,
Not for your hugs and kisses,
that's just more child abuse.
Don't preach about your morals,
Like your Mama did to you.
That's nothing more than mind control,
And it's illegal too!

Mom, I have these children's rights,
So you can't influence me,
Or I'll call Children's Services Division,
Better known as C.S.D.'

Mom's Reply and Thoughts

Of course my first instinct was
To toss him out the door.
But the chance to teach him a lesson
Made me think a little more.

I mulled it over carefully,
I couldn't let this go.
A smile crept upon my face,
he's messing with a pro.

Next day I took him shopping
At the local Goodwill Store..
I told him, 'Pick out all you want,
there's shirts & pants galore.

I've called and checked with C.S.D
Who said they didn't care
If I bought you K-Mart shoes
Instead of those Nike Airs.
I've canceled that appointment
To take your driver's test.
The C.S.D. Is unconcerned
So I'll decide what's best.'

I said 'No time to stop and eat,
Or pick up stuff to munch.
And tomorrow you can start to learn
To make your own sack lunch.

Just save the raging appetite,
And wait till dinner time.
We're having liver and onions,
A favorite dish of mine.'

He asked 'Can I please rent a movie,
To watch on my VCR?'
'Sorry, but I sold your TV,
For new tires on my car.
I also rented out your room,
You'll take the couch instead.
The C.S.D . Requires
Just a roof over your head.

Your clothing won't be trendy now,
I'll choose what we eat.
T hat allowance that you used to get,
Will buy me something neat.

I'm selling off your jet ski,
Dirt-bike & roller blades.
Check out the 'Parents Bill of Rights',
It's in effect today!

Hey hot shot, are you crying,
Why are you on your knees?
Are you asking God to help you out,
Instead of C.S.D..?'

This is for all people that have teenagers or have
already raised teenagers,

Or have children who will soon be teenagers or those
who will be parents someday

Not Feeling Well

I am not feeling well yesterday and today. I got this virus that's spreading right now. I have a hoarse voice, itchy throat, colds and cough. I also had a fever yesterday. My taste bud is not good too. Food taste awful to me nowadays. Yesterday when hubby got home from work he felt my forehead and he said I have a fever. He then gave me a Tylenol to take but I didn't want it. I told him that's for pain relief and I didn't feel pain, only fever, and cough. What I did, I got a face towel, wet it and put in my forehead. After that I went to walk in my tread mill. Today the fever is gone but I still have this cough. In fact my abdomen just below my ribs is already sore due to my coughing. I drank lemon juice early this morning and I just ate a little. It's been a while I got sick like this and I'm praying that this cough and colds will go away. I even rebuked it to leave my body in the name of Jesus. I believe I will get well sooner.

Pecan Tree

This is one of our 4 pecan trees at the back of our house. This pic was taken last spring. The leaves were so green then but now that tree is bald and also all our other trees. I harvested a lot pecans this year though. I sold a bunch of pecans this year and I also gave away some of it last Christmas. The other year we didn't have any pecans at all because of the heat. Pecans didn't bear fruits. It's good this time we have more pecans than we can use.

These grass were planted beside our house. They've been here when we bought the house. It spread so fast, easy to maintain and the flowers last a long time. Even on winter they don't die. These grass is good for landscaping and also for borders in your flower garden. These grass has weird name though, it's called MONKEY GRASS.

I love buying purses and shoes. I think that's most women's weakness. My hubby said that I have more purses than I can use. He maybe right but I told him that I just want to match my purse with my clothes and shoes that's why I want different colors and styles. Most of the purses I have were bought when they were on sale. I don't buy it on regular price. I wait till they mark down the prices. I bought some of my purses when I was still working at JC Penney and also I bought some in the BX when I was working at the base. Some of my purses were given to me by my friends who really have good hearts. The Guess and Benetton bags were from my friend Arlene. I wish I can afford to buy those signature bags like Coach or Donny & Burk but they cost so much. I think it's not practical for me to buy it but if somebody would give it to me as a gift, I would be too happy to take it, he-he-he!
